EAM's Almost-Ready-to-Fly (ARF) Glastar replica accurately captures the graceful compound curves of the fuselage, the distinctive tail feathers and the slender high-aspect ratio wing! This model has a fiberglass fuselage, cowling, wheel pants and unique nosewheel fairing. The kit comes with both the conventional gear and tricycle gear for your choice of construction.
Pictured is this 84" kit which shows some of the detail that we've put into this model. To maintain scale across the top of the cabin section, we've joined the wings on both sides of the fuselage, rather just a center joint. This replicates the dihedral starting at the sides of the cabin. The unique design allows for simple field assembly of the wing and allows easy transport of the otherwise long wing. The wing struts attach aft of the door, an unusual trademark of the Glastar, and are functional - secured by machine screws into blind nuts in both the wing and fuselage.
The kits are elegantly simple, caused by the benefits of the lightweight molded fiberglass fuselage. We are particularly proud of the detail scoring on the fuselage sides for the windows and doors, the factory cut-out window spaces, formed 'glass' which inserts to create flush windows, and the beautifully molded wheel pants with integral fairings.
Kit hardware includes pushrods, control surface horns, fuel tank, wing and landing gear fasteners, DuBro remote fuel fill and axles, Sullivan fuel line, pushrods and wheel pant retainers.
This model has huge vertical and horizantal stabilizer surfaces. It is extremely well mannered in the air, but a touch pitch sensitive. We recommend the use of dual rates or exponential for scale like flights. The flaps perform perfectly, creating drag with virtually no pitch change.
Faithful to the original - the graceful compound curves of the fuselage, the narrow wing (complete with operating flaps) and large tail feather control surfaces - makes this another truly unique model aircraft.
